The Amrita ABB Robotics Lab, the first of its kind by an Indian university, was inaugurated at Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham(Amritapuri Campus) on February 25th by Shri. P. K. Kunhalikutty, Minister of Industries and IT, Government of Kerala. The state of the art lab is expected to herald a new era for robotics research and academics in India. Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham’s AMMACHI Labs has collaborated with ABB Robotics for setting up the Robotics Research Lab with two ROS-Industrial robots.
Dr. Sasi K. Kottayil, Professor at the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Amrita School of Engineering, Coimbatore campus was honored with a commendation certificate by the editorial board of Energy, in recognition for his outstanding contributions to the quality of the journal.

Mahindra & Mahindra Limited (M&M) conducted a national level quiz competition, Mahindra Auto Quotient (AQ) at Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham’s Bengaluru campus on 11th and 12th February 2015. This is a unique quiz for auto enthusiasts and has established its position as India’s largest automotive quiz, where students showcase their passion for automobiles. This year’s theme was “Sustainability in Automobiles.”
