Single atom catalysis discloses characteristic performances for a broad variety of chemical reactions. The catalytic reactions increase the selectivity relative to the uncatalyzed process. These single atom catalysts particularly have high activities, stabilities and selectivity. Designing and developing single atom catalyst for environmental remediation is a promising area for scientist. SACs are easier to separate as compared to homogeneous metal catalysts, therefore more reusable and have higher stability. Metal organic frameworks can be more effectively designed by modifying the organic and inorganic structural units. Wide variety of nanomaterials can be obtained by utilizing MOFs as self-sacrificing templates and precursors. SACs derived from MOF can combine the advantage of both.
