This project aims to support evidence-based teacher professional development (TPD) programs in India to enhance the quality of vocational and higher education. The first part of the project highlights the importance of evidence-based decision-making (EBDM) in various aspects of human life, including education. Integrating digital technologies in daily educational practices has made EBDM increasingly crucial. The second part of the project identifies a significant challenge in the education system in India, which is the need for formal training for teachers in educational and learning science. This shortcoming brings complexity in integrating digital educational technologies into their daily practices. The project proposes a TPD program to provide vocational and higher education teachers with the knowledge and skills to integrate digital educational technology tools into their classrooms and promote active learning. The main guiding star of the TPD programs in this project is the TPACK model. The program will be delivered through online and offline training sessions, workshops, and mentoring support. By improving the quality of teaching and learning in vocational and higher education, the project has the potential to make a significant impact on the education system in India.
