Environmental engineering deals with applying scientific and engineering principles to address environmental problems. The main goal is to protect human health and the environment by developing sustainable solutions to environmental challenges.
Key areas: air pollution control, water resource management, and solid waste management. This also considers the economic and social factors involved in addressing environmental problems and the regulatory and legal frameworks that govern environmental protection.
The research mainly focuses on designing, implementing, and maintaining systems that control pollution and protect the environment, such as designing and building water & wastewater treatment plants, developing methods to reduce air pollution, or creating strategies to manage waste.
