The cascaded effect of disturbances in the power system can lead to short- as well as long-term blackouts. Owing to the continued integration of renewable energy systems into the power network, the cumulative impact of disturbances from multiple sources can have a resonating impact with consequences. Operating near the stability margin, such disturbances significantly increase the threat to power system stability. In this project, we aim to study the rate-dependent transitions, resembling the intermittent renewable energy, and their impact on power system stability using AI-based approaches.
