Research Interests

  1. Structure-property correlation in conducting polymer composites
  2. Electroactive polymer based nanogenerators
  3. Inherently conducting polymer hybrid nanocomposites and polymer based solid electrolytes for energy storage applications
  4. Conducting polymer nanocomposites for EMI shielding applications
  5. Biodegradable polymers, Carbon nanostructures and synthesis of metal oxides for diversified applications

Research activities of my group predominantly lies in understanding structure-property correlation in conducting polymer composites so that they can be used for diversified applications such as EMI shielding in microwave frequency range, fuel cell bipolar plates, sensors and actuators etc. We investigate the electrical, and thermal properties of different semi-crystalline polymers incorporated with carbon nanostructures such as carbon nanotubes, carbon nanofiber etc. for EMI shielding applications.

Apart from insulating polymer-based nanocomposites, our group further focuses attention on the synthesis of inherently conducting polymers such as polyaniline and hybrid nanocomposites prepared with PANI nanostructures for energy storage applications.
