Subhalakshmi K. completed MPhil Biotechnology from Alagappa University, Karaikudi, Tamil Nadu in 2008 and M. Sc. Zoology from Lady Doak College (affiliated to Madurai Kamaraj University), Madurai, Tamil Nadu. She worked as a Guest Lecturer at the Department of Biotechnology, Lady Doak College, Madurai, Tamil Nadu during 2006-2007.

She joined Amrita School of Biotechnology in 2011 and currently pursuing doctoral degree at the Cell Biology lab.
