Bio

In his PhD thesis, Dr. Akhil discussed the political and cultural concept of transnationalism. This concept can be understood as an affiliated yet unique idea about what is commonly referred to as diasporic representations. These discussions are increasingly relevant in a world that is becoming more global. On a larger canvas, his thesis aimed to link literature representing more than one nation to the evolving idea of the fluidity of identities, supported by a transnational mindscape. With this perspective as the baseline, he is investing time to explore the following specializations:

  1. Postmodern literature discourses – involving contested views or transnational views on diasporic representations.
  2. Indian English Literature – with an aim to explore the diversity of representations in terms of cultures and ethnicities, pertaining to the larger depiction of the nation.
  3. Films – with an objective to focus on regional (Kerala) films and other Indian films in translation through subtitles, for exploring the various discourses and dialogues made public through cinematic medium.
  4. Indian Spiritual Knowledge System – the researcher aims to analyse select core Vedic texts of Bharath and attempt a comparative writing in contrast to the Western philosophy.
  5. Discretionary and rational usage of AI language tools – to probe into the possibilities of faster language processing methods with emphasis on such practices that ascertain maximum sense retention of given data.
