Bio

Dr. Rajesh Thachathodiyl is a distinguished Professor of Cardiology at Amrita School of Medicine, Kochi, where he also serves as the Director of the CT Angiogram Programme. With over 15 years of experience in Interventional Cardiology, Dr. Rajesh is recognized for his expertise in complex coronary interventions, particularly through radial access. Since joining Amrita, Kochi, Dr. Rajesh has become a pioneer in interventional cardiology, introducing and championing advanced techniques like rotablations, CTO recanalization, and left main interventions.

Dr. Rajesh has played a crucial role in advancing cardiac imaging programs, spearheading the Cardiac CT programme since 2005 and the Cardiac MRI programme since 2007. He is an active educator, a DNB examiner in cardiology, and a respected faculty member at international summits like ‘Kamakura Live’ in Japan and the CTO Summit in Kobe, Japan. His contributions to radial access interventions are recognized both nationally and internationally, and he has trained numerous budding cardiologists in this specialized field.
