Bio

Sivanandan D. S. currently serves as, Assistant Professor at School of Spiritual & Cultural Studies, Amrita Viswa Vidyapeetham, Amritapuri Campus. After completing his post-graduation in Physics from Mahatma Gandhi University, Kerala, he served as a Research Associate for 3 years in Sukrtindra Oriental Research Institute, Kochi. His research interests is in the field of Practical Yoga Dharshana.

  • Indira Gandhi National Centre for the Arts has awarded a consultancy project to design, construct and transfer a scale model of falcon fire altar for their Vedic Heritage museum at New Delhi. The project will be completed by December 2017.

  • Faculty Coordinator – Student’s Internships organized by Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham as part of Amrita SeRVe 101 Village Adoption Project. The internships were conducted in Pandori village, Kathua District in Jammu & Kashmir for two weeks in June 2015 and July 2016
  • Co-founder and Trainer – Sadgamaya Program 2013 to present. It is an education and outreach initiative of Amrita Viswa Vidyapeetham to impart values and career orientation to school children so that they can start to plan early for a successful career based on a deeper understanding of life. Since June 2013 more than 150 camps are organized all over Kerala to engage ~10000 school students till July 2018.

  • Faculty Mentor – Amrita Astronomy Club, from 2009 to 2015.
  • Faculty Coordinator – Student’s Internships organized by International Forum for India’s Heritage (IFIH) at the Coimbatore campus. As part of internship, students prepared material to be used for a DVD on the subject of Science and Technology in Ancient India. The internships were from December 7 -19, 2009 and June 5-24, 2010.
