Bio

Dr. Pramod P. Nair currently serves as Assistant Professor (Level 12) in the Department of Mathematics, School of Physical Sciences, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Amritapuri Campus. Before joining Amrita in 2007, he worked as a CSIR Research Fellow at IIT Kharagpur on Satellite Image Analysis for land cover classifications.

Dr. Nair received his MSc (Mathematics) from Mahatma Gandhi University and his Ph.D. from Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham for his research titled ‘Upper Bounds to Genome Rearrangement Problem using Prefix Transpositions’. He has also qualified for CSIR-UGC JRF. His research interests include Machine Learning – Applications of physics-informed neural networks (PINN) in engineering and sciences; Combinatorics- permutations, Cayley graphs; Theoretical Computer Science – Approximation algorithms; Bioinformatics – Mathematical analysis of genome rearrangement problems.
