Dr. Deepika M. G. is currently Associate Professor at the Department of Management, Amrita University,Bangalore campus. She holds a Ph. D in Economics from Institute for Social and Economic Change, Bangalore. She has taught in different Business Schools in India for close to two decades in the MBA and Ph. D programs. Her teaching areas include Micro and Macroeconomics, Business Research Methods, Marketing Research, International Trade and WTO, Platform Economies, and Experimental Designs in Behavioural Research. She has participated and presented research papers in many national and international conferences and has widely published research papers in different national and international journals in the areas of Economics and Management. Her research areas include International Trade, Development Economics, Sharing Economies, Gig Economy, Labour Laws, Labour Management, Poverty, Microfinance and Plantation Management in India. She has offered consulting work for Tata Tea, National Research Program for Planation Development at Centre for Development Studies, Trivandrum and IISD Geneva. She was a visiting fellow at the University of Groningen, Netherlands under the Erasmus Mundus program. She has recently completed a major research project on Sharing Economies, funded by the Indian Council of Social Science Research, Ministry of Human Resource Development, New Delhi.
