Abstract : A major cause of death in recent times is the cardiovascular disease. In most cases, patients die due to lack of awareness or warning of the disease. Hence, this paper aims at monitoring the patients at all times so that any irregularities such as arrhythmia in the heart can be detected and an alarm signal can be sent to the physician. The signal is acquired using AD620 as the instrumentation amplifier. The signal is further processed using MATLAB and the heart rate of the person is calculated. This data is then transmitted wirelessly with the help of Raspberry Pi 3 Model B. This transmitted data is displayed on a website which can be accessed by doctors and physicians.
