Abstract : The study tries to find out whether there is an increased manifestation of religious sentiments in the virtual social networks of Indian youth. Further, it looks at whether virtual social networks offer any advantages over real social networks as a platform for the youth to express themselves. Thus, this paper integrates the seemingly independent areas of digital social networks and religious expressiveness. Through two detailed focus group discussions with youth belonging to diverse religious backgrounds, this study tries to gain insights into the identity negotiation process that takes place in digital space through social networking site
