Project Research Scientist-I (Medical) @ Kochi

The department of Public Health Dentistry, School of Dentistry, Kochi is inviting application for the post of Project Research Scientist-I (Medical) on a contractual basis for working on the NHRP – ICMR project ANANT MUSKAAN: A Multi-State Implementation Research on Primary School based Tooth Brushing and Oral Health Education in India for the Cochin site.

Location

Kochi, Kerala

Travel Requirement Local travel within Cochin district and occasional travel to other project sites across India
Required Number 1
Remuneration ₹67,000/- per month + HRA @ 18%
Tenure Initially for 11 months, extendable up to 2 years based on performance
Essential Qualifications

  • BDS/MBBS with a master’s degree in public health OR MDS (Public Health Dentistry) OR MD (Community Medicine) from a recognized university.

  • Three years of work experience from a recognized institution.

Desirable Qualifications

  • PhD in Public Health or related subjects

  • Proficiency in Malayalam language (essential for community engagement)

  • Five original research publications in indexed journals

  • Upper Age Limit: 40 years (relaxation applicable as per rules)

Desirable Experience

  • Experience in project management and coordination

  • Proficient in designing and conducting epidemiological and interventional/community studies

  • Strong data management, analysis, and reporting skills

  • Proficiency in computer applications, including Microsoft Office, statistical software, and working with databases

Job Responsibilities

  • Manage and coordinate multi-centric field studies

  • Oversee the overall implementation of the project at the Cochin site

  • Convene and document project meetings; coordinate with site investigators and research institutes

  • Independently manage and analyze public health research data

  • Supervise and coordinate with other project staff

  • Support the PI in strategic decision-making, reporting, and stakeholder communication and proposal writing skills

  • Undertake any additional responsibilities assigned by the Principal Investigator or competent authority
