Abstract : Organooxotin compounds can be assembled by using various synthetic methodologies. Although in most instances, organotin oxides and hydroxides are the preferred starting materials for preparing organooxotin compounds, SnC bond cleavage reactions involving organotin compounds also offer a rational route. This review deals with the recent progress in this area and examines various reactions, where SnC cleavage occurs. A wide range of products are accessible from this approach and these are presented in this article.
