Dr. Vladimir Filkov is a Professor of Computer Science, at the University of California, Davis. He is a data scientist specializing in AI/ML methods for producing analytics from multi-modal data sets in software engineering and biomedical research. With the students in his DECAL Lab and AI for Health Lab, and his collaborators, he has published more than 120 scientific papers, and won many distinctions, including two test-of-time awards. Their latest work in Sustainability of Open Source Software has been supported by NSF, the Sloan Foundation, and Google. Prof Filkov is an ACM Distinguished Scientist and a UCD College of Engineering 2024 Outstanding Researcher. He was also the inaugural Director of Translational Data Science at DataLab, 2000-2024.
