Bio

Dr. G. Revathi is the Counsellor at the Mano Layam Centre for Wellbeing and a Professor of Practice at the School of Social and Behavioural Sciences, Amritapuri. She has an MS in Counseling Psychology from the Assumption University of Bangkok, Thailand with her master’s thesis on the mediating role of mattering and resilience between social connectedness and suicidal ideation in university students. Prior to joining Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, she has been a counsellor in private practice for 3+ years.

She also has a PhD in Organisational Psychology from the Indian Institute of Technology – Madras, Chennai with 15 years of teaching experience in higher education overlapping with five years of experience in academic administration. Earlier, she had worked in the IT industry as a HR professional for 6 years.

As both a practitioner and a researcher, Dr Revathi is interested in the use of positive psychology and strengths-based approaches to enhance well-being.
