Abstract : Modern healthcare systems are complex, and patient information is frequently shared with doctors, patients, and shareholders. Traditional EHR methods were used to protect patient records, and these methods faced a few challenges related to compatibility, unintentional information disclosure, and invalid access. Recent healthcare systems that depend on digital health records entail systems that include integrity, security, and confidentiality of patient records. This paper proposes a blockchain technology, that is, the Storj mechanism, as a solution to the problems that were faced by the traditional methods. This method provides a decentralized, tamper-resistant, and transparent framework for storing and sharing medical data. The Storj mechanism complies with data protection regulations such as the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA). It provides a standardised platform and facilitates interoperability between different healthcare systems and institutions. The outcomes obtained using Storj's mechanism for managing medical health records include enhanced security, privacy, compliance, interoperability, efficiency, and facilitation of medical research.
