Abstract : Different gain cells used for Distributed oscillators (DOs) have been studied through extensive simulations. Measured results for a cascode DO are also reported, with oscillation frequency of around 10.1 GHz with 4.63 dBm output power at 1.8 V and phase noise of −114 dBc/Hz at 1 MHz offset from the carrier. © 2016 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
