New Research Project on Bearing Steel Fatigue and Tribological Behavior

Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham announces the launch of a groundbreaking research project titled “Analysis of the Rolling Contact Fatigue and Tribological Behavior of Bearing Steel”, led by Dr. Shubrajit Bhaumik, Associate Professor at Amrita School of Engineering, Chennai. This project, funded by Terracarb Ltd, delves into the intricate tribological behavior and fatigue characteristics of bearing steel, a cornerstone material in numerous mechanical and engineering applications.
The primary objective of this research is to plan and execute experiments that will meticulously analyze the tribological properties of nano lubricants. By gaining a deeper understanding of these cutting-edge lubricants, we aim to unlock significant advancements in the performance and durability of bearing systems.
A comprehensive report, summarizing the findings of this groundbreaking research, has been submitted. This invaluable document provided profound insights into the complex mechanisms of rolling contact fatigue resistance, anti-wear and extreme pressure properties of the lubricant.
