The Govt. of India has ranked Amrita University the 7th best university in the country for 2024. The acknowledgement is by the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF), Ministry of Education. Amrita becomes one among the few higher education institutions to figure in the Top 10 Universities list eight times in a row, from 2017. Founded in 2003, it is also the youngest institution in the list.

Ranked 8, Amrita School of Medicine is in the top 10 medical colleges in the country. Along with that, Amrita School of Pharmacy is ranked 13 in the Pharmacy Education Category, while Amrita School of Dentistry ranked 14 in the Dental Education Category. Amrita School of Engineering ranked 23. Amrita (ranked 18) is also among the only three private universities to find a place in the list of Top 20 Universities in the ‘Overall’ category.

As a leading multi-campus, multi-disciplinary teaching and research institution, it is a high recognition of Amrita’s achievements. NIRF is based upon a methodology for the national-level annual ranking of higher education institutions. It evaluates institutions under the parameters of five broad generic groups: teaching, learning & resources, research & professional practice, graduation outcomes, outreach & inclusivity, and perception.
