Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham is dedicated to fostering sustainable global change through collaborations with regional NGOs and government organizations.
Under the leadership of Amrita’s Chancellor and Civil 20 India 2023 Chair, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham hosted 5 Working groups under addressing critical areas such as Integrated and Holistic Health, Sustainable and Resilient Communities, Education and Digital Transformation, Gender Equality and Women Empowerment and Technology, Security, and Transparency. These engagements were conducted by Amrita as part of the Civil 20 Engagement Group (C20) discussions organized under the G20 Presidency assumed by the Government of India for one year from December 1, 2022 to November 30, 2023.

Amrita led the formulation of Policy Pack for Civil 20 India 2023 compiling policy recommendations from 16 Working Groups. More than 1000 meetings were held by the time of the Jaipur Summit in end-July. With the participation of more than 184,000 persons covering 74 nationalities, including mainly countries of the Global South, its activities have comprised, both in-person and online, conferences, workshops, seminars, “chaupals”, “samaj-shalas” and youth ambassador programmes to prepare the policy pack .
