The recent EvoLUMIN National Hackathon, held over two days at Amrita University’s Amritapuri campus, concluded with teams from Amrita University, Sri Venkateswara University, and Government Engineering College, Aurangabad taking top honors. The hackathon featured three tracks—Healthcare, Agriculture, and Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
The SDG track winners were M. Abhinav, V. S. Aman, M. G. Hridesh, and Gautham Mohanraj from Amrita University. In the Agriculture track, the winning team included Afroze Muhammed, Supriya Reddy Mukkamala, and Swanit Kumar Reddy from Sri Venkateswara University. The Healthcare track was won by Saiesh Sharma and Himanshu Mishra from Government Engineering College, Aurangabad.
Hosted by the Amrita School of Computing in collaboration with the campus ACM Student Chapter, Amrita Create, Dallasec, and Devfolio, the event drew students from universities across India. Dr. Prema Nedungadi, Associate Dean of the Amrita School of Computing, inaugurated the hackathon, joined by distinguished faculty including Brahmachari Vishwanatha Amrita Chaitanya, Head of CIR; Dr. S. N. Jyothi, Associate Dean of the School of Engineering; Dr. Jyotish J. Nair, Vice Principal of the School of Computing; Dr. M. Geetha, Chair of the CS Artificial Intelligence Department; Assistant Professor P. K. Binu and Student Coordinator M. Akhil Menon.
From over 400 teams nationwide, the top 50 were selected to participate in a challenging 36-hour final round. An expert panel evaluated the projects and announced the winners, who received awards totaling ₹1.5 lakh and certificates of excellence. Special guests Cyril Sebastian, K. S. Rishikesh, and N. S. Dhanvanth presented the awards to the winning teams.
