Abstract : Distributed generation and cell power systems often necessitate the use of high step-up DC-DC converters. In solar Photovoltaic generation systems, the output produced by the solar panel will be low DC voltage which should be boosted to high voltage to be used for other applications. Here, a high voltage gain DC-DC converter become a key component between the solar panel and the high voltage DC bus.Isolated DC-DC converters are widely utilized in practical systems due to their ability to achieve high voltage gain and provide galvanic isolation. There are many DC-DC converter topologies available but selecting the most appropriate converter for PV application is important. The paper proposes a comparative study of the two most efficient DC-DC converters which are the Full bridge converter and Isolated interleaved boost converter. These topologies are analyzed in detail and the selection of a well-suited converter for photovoltaic applications with Low-cost, compact, highly efficient, and low-noise characteristics is done based on a comparative study.
