Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham celebrated the graduation of 681 students across various disciplines at its Kochi campus. Graduates from the School of Medicine, School of Pharmacy, College of Nursing, School of Allied Health Sciences, School of Dentistry, School of Business, and School of Nano Science and Molecular Medicine were awarded degrees during the ceremony.

Delivering the keynote address, Dr. Manoj Humagain, Dean of Kathmandu University, emphasized the significance of India’s heritage in traditional healthcare and its leadership in global health. He praised India’s contributions to wellness, particularly through practices like yoga and meditation, now globally acknowledged for their benefits to mental and physical well-being. Drawing on the parallel growth of healthcare and technological advancements, he highlighted the journey from antibiotics to vaccines, urging graduates to remember that healthcare is not only about diagnosis and treatment, but also empathy and compassion—values deeply rooted in traditional healing systems.

Dr. Humagain also touched upon the strong educational ties between India and Nepal, stressing the crucial role of collaboration in joint research and studies, particularly in the health sector. He mentioned that for many Nepali students, India remains a second home for pursuing higher education, strengthening the partnership between the two countries.

The event also featured insights from Dr. Ajay Jaising Khopde, Vice President of Research and Development at Sun Pharmaceutical Industries, who served as the chief guest for the Amrita School of Pharmacy graduation. Dr. Khopde emphasized that education shapes the future, highlighting Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham’s evolution over the past 30 years into a symbol of educational excellence in India.

Jeevan Shasidharan, Associate Director at Ernst & Young, addressed the graduates, noting that a key challenge facing job seekers today is the inability to ask questions. He encouraged the graduates to remain curious and continuously adapt by acquiring new skills.

Swami Poornamritananda Puri, General Secretary of Mata Amritanandamayi Math, delivered the benedictory address, imparting spiritual wisdom to the graduates as they embark on their professional journeys.
