Abstract : This paper discusses the problem of intercepting nonstationary nonmaneuvering targets with all possible desired impact angles in a two-dimensional (2D) engagement scenario. The field-of-view (FOV) constraint of the on-board seeker is also considered in designing the guidance law to avoid losing the target while following the missile trajectory, and which makes it feasible for real world solutions. A new Pure Proportional Navigation (PPN) guidance law is proposed for attaining impact angle control over the remaining half of the angular range as the existing guidance law in the literature considers only the half of the entire angular range of impact angles. Hence the present work alongwith the existing work in the literature provides the solution to the requirement of achieving any impact angle in aerial engagement scenarios. The proposed guidance law is then simulated against a nonstationary nonmaneuvering target using a kinematic model of a missile to demonstrate the efficiency of the presented scheme
