Job Overview The Trusted Research Environment is a dedicated computing environment made available to clinical researchers to conduct research with patient and disease data. The IT Engineer is responsible for the installation, configuration, and maintenance of computer systems and software within the Trusted Research Environment. This role involves provisioning user accounts, troubleshooting hardware and software issues, and ensuring the smooth operation of IT services. A solid understanding of Linux and SQL is desirable.
Key Responsibilities

  • System Setup and Configuration: Install, configure, and maintain TRE computing infrastructure (hardware and software). Set up and configure operating systems and applications, ensuring they

  • User Account Management: Provision and manage user accounts, permissions, and access rights in various systems.

  • Technical Support: Provide technical support to hospital staff, troubleshooting hardware and software issues. Respond to and resolve IT service desk requests in a timely manner.

  • Software Management: Install, update, and maintain software applications.

  • Network and Security: Assist in maintaining network infrastructure, including switches, routers, and wireless access points. Implement and enforce IT security policies to protect hospital data and systems. Qualifications and Skills

  • Proficiency in installing, configuring, and troubleshooting Windows and Linux Systems.

  • Basic knowledge of Bash, SQL.

  • Familiarity with network management and IT security practices.

  • Understanding of Active Directory and user account management.
