Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham’s pioneering initiatives in education were prominently featured at the National Workshop on ‘Inculcating SDG-4 (Quality Education) in HEIs in Compliance with NEP 2020,’ hosted by SRM University, Chennai.Key initiatives showcased included the Amrita Center for International Programs (ACIP), fostering global perspectives among students, and the acclaimed Live-in-Labs program, offering experiential learning opportunities that address real-world challenges.
The event, held on July 9, 2024, gathered over 100 delegates to discuss strategies for integrating Sustainable Development Goal 4 (SDG-4) into higher education institutions.
Dr. Prashant R. Nair, Vice-Chairman of the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) at Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham’s Coimbatore campus, delivered a compelling presentation. Highlighting Amrita’s commitment to quality education aligned with the vision of Chancellor AMMA, Dr. Nair underscored three pillars: education for life, compassion-driven research, and global impact. These pillars form the foundation of Amrita’s educational philosophy, emphasizing holistic learning and community engagement.
The workshop, organized under the leadership of Dr. G. Augustine Maniraj Pandian, Dean-IQAC at SRM University, and Dr. P. Madhusoodhanan, Head of the Career Development Center (CDC), provided a platform for sharing best practices and fostering collaboration among HEIs towards achieving the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
