Amrita’s flagship program namely Live-in-Labs® is a credit-based academic program that draws on principles of lean research for the development and deployment of sustainable solutions for current challenges faced by rural communities in India. By directly living in rural communities (labs) and co-designing sustainable solutions program participants gain first-hand knowledge along with the know-how of identifying and assessing community needs.

Online Labs (OLabs) is a Digital India Award- winning educational initiative pioneered in partnership with CDAC, Mumbai, under a research grant from the Department of Information Technology, Government of India. Available in 4 languages, OLabs provide a virtual lab experience for high school students on difficult topics in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology.

Virtual Simulation Labs was born out of Amma’s vision to tap on the huge potential in the youth from these backgrounds and to provide them with a high quality education. The virtual labs are accessible freely via the internet.

AmritaRITE system is an educational initiative pioneered by AmritaCREATE, the Amrita Centre for Research in Analytics, Technologies & Education at Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham. AmritaRITE seeks to empower rural children with tablet-based education and awareness building from early childhood with the aim of achieving holistic development, benefiting both children and adults, including ethnic and indigenous groups.

Tribal eLiteracy, a digital education initiative has been developed to train tribal youth in basic digital awareness. The certified course also provides access to digital libraries, games, and apps for e-learning. It teaches how to create simple documents, create excel sheets, access the internet and fill out application forms for banking, and other needs.
