Abstract : In the present scenario nanocomposites centered on rubber matrices and modified fillers exemplify a remarkable opening for the proposal of high characteristic materials especially from the mechanical properties and solvent permeability points of view. Natural rubber composites with nickel ferrite nano fillers are prepared at various loadings. Nickel ferrite was synthesized using a very unique co-precipitation method using sodium hydroxide as the precipitating agent. The prepared fillers were incorporated into natural rubber matrix at 5, 15, 25, 50 and 75 phr (parts per hundred rubber) loading. The rubber mixes were vulcanized for corresponding cure time and the obtained rubber sheets were analyzed for mechanical and solvent penetration behavior.
