The Pre-Conference Workshop for the 13th IEEE International Conference on “Cloud Computing in Emerging Markets” convened on March 16, 2024, at the Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Mysuru Campus. The pre-conference workshop aimed to attract the participation of researchers at different levels who were mentored by national and international subject matter experts from professional and academic fields regarding the submitted research proposals.
The workshop featured a series of insightful keynote sessions delivered by esteemed experts in the field. Dr. Mahesh Rao, President, TiE (The Indus Entrepreneurs), Mysuru Chapter and CEO of Aashaya Design Solutions, delved into the “Use of Predictive Analytics in Health Care,” offering valuable insights into the application of data analytics in the healthcare sector. Meanwhile, Mr. Gurvinder Singh, Senior Solutions Architect at IBM, and Mr. Yatin Gawde, Senior Architect at Accenture, presented “GenAI Introduction with WatsonX,” shedding light on the integration of artificial intelligence into various domains. Dr. Ravichandra Kulkarni, Dean of Research at MIT Mysore & Chair of IEEE Mysuru Subsection, explored “The Overlay of AI-IoT-EV: Gateway to Amazing Possibilities,” emphasizing the transformative potential of combining AI, IoT, and electric vehicles. Mr. Kiran Puthukudy, Chief Architect & DevOps Leader at CYAAG Technologies, discussed “NextGen Social Impact with IEEE Sustainable Development Platform,” while Mr. Ramaksrishna Reddy, Principal Architect at RedHat, and Ms. Barnali Bhattacharya, Senior Architect at Accenture, shared insights on “Cloud Native Development with Red Hat Open Shift.” Dr. Sheela Siddappa, Director of Kyndryl India, concluded the sessions with a presentation on “AI and Job,” addressing the intersection of artificial intelligence and employment.
In the workshop, Mr. Srinivas Varadarajan, CEO & Founder of Vigyan Data Labs, Mysuru, and Mr. Sivakumar Dakshinamoorthy, AI Security Researcher and Head at Lenovo, India, contributed their perspectives, enriching the discussions with their expertise.
The event garnered significant interest, attracting over 250 submissions including research abstracts, student projects, and TechnoBiz plans. The awards were presented to recognize excellence in various categories, including the Best Research Paper, Best TechnoBiz Plan, and Best Student Projects.
During the event, Dr. T. S. Mohan from Pragnyan Data Labs, Bengaluru and Member, Conference Steering Committee, provided an overview of the pre-conference workshop. Prof. Shekar Babu, Associate Dean of Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Mysuru Campus; Prof. G. Ravindranath, Principal and others were present during the occasion.
