Over the past year, the Accelerated Learning Program (ALP) has flourished at Amrita Vidyalayam Puthikavu and Kollam, marking a significant milestone in educational excellence. This innovative program, developed at Amrita CREATE, is designed to cater to the unique needs of Indian ESL students through a comprehensive approach that encompasses levelled book readings, differentiated instructions, and hands-on learning experiences.
One of the key pillars of the ALP is its alignment with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, emphasizing whole-class instruction, differentiated teaching methodology, hands on learning and seamless integration of technology such as computer tablets and audiobooks. This holistic approach ensures that every student receives personalized learning experiences that foster their academic growth and development.
The outcomes based on the baseline, midterm, and final assessments completed for the year provide evidence of the program’s performance. Students not only improved their reading skills significantly, but they also gained confidence in their abilities to tackle difficult literature on their own.
A recent highlight of the ALP journey was the inaugural Kindergarten graduation ceremony at Amrita Vidyalayam Puthiyakavu. This momentous occasion not only celebrated the academic achievements of young learners but also served as a testament to the program’s success in nurturing well-rounded individuals.
The ceremony was graced by Mrs. Radhika Menon, the program manager of ALP and a short video was played to share inspiring insights into the transformative impact of the program on students’ learning outcomes. The ALP team, comprising dedicated educators and professionals, was honored with a memento as a token of appreciation for their relentless commitment to educational excellence.
In addition to the kindergarten graduation ceremony, the ALP classroom was also showcased to parents, providing them with a firsthand glimpse into the innovative teaching concept and student-centric learning environment. The parents were highly impressed by the immersive and engaging educational experience facilitated by the ALP.
