The Department of Education, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Mysuru campus, celebrated the ‘National Science Day – 2019’ in commemoration of the discovery of Raman Effect by Sir CV Raman on this day in 1928, on February 28, 2019.

It may be recalled here that the discovery won him the Nobel Prize in physics a couple of years later. The Science Club of the college initiated the commemoration. Through this event, the club attempted to throw light upon the importance of science in one’s day to day life. A few science-based activities such as experiments, exhibition of models, demonstrations, etc., were also organized.
