Abstract : In the electrical transmission system, many unexpected or unwanted situations may arise that may damage the system. Hence, it is important to monitor them continuously in real time to take necessary actions immediately. This paper aims to develop a Remote monitoring system by which the important transmission line parameters such as Voltage, Current, Frequency, Power, Power Factor can be monitored remotely using a cloud platform and to develop a Remote-control system by which the monitored parameters can be controlled according to the user and situation, from remote places. The control is of two levels: Cloud level control and Edge level control. The developed system is tested on a laboratory scale - IEEE 5 bus model which is present at Power Systems lab of Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Coimbatore, India. The results presented indicate that the proposed system successfully works.
