The inauguration of the academic activities for 2017 was held on July 26, 2017. The inauguration of Vidyamritam 2017 (15th Annual Extramural Expert Lecture series) and activities of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) was also held on the same day.
The event commenced with the Ganapathy Stuthi and an astounding dance performance. Pujaneeya Swami Purnamritananda Puri, General Secretary, Mata Amritanandamayi Math, blessed the occasion. Dr. U. Krishnakumar, Director, School of Arts and Sciences, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Kochi Campus, greeted the gathering. The Chief Guest Dr. A. Ramachandran, Vice Chancellor, Kerala University of Fisheries and Ocean Studies (KUFOS), delivered the inaugural address. The ceremony was presided over by Dr. (Col) Vishal Marwaha, Principal, Amrita School of Medicine, Kochi. The Guest of Honour Smt. P. Sindhu, Unit Manager, Mathrubhumi, offered felicitations. The chief guest launched the academic handbook.
As part of the CSR activities of the campus, saplings were distributed to the parents in association with SEED, an initiative of Mathrubhumi. Best Library Users Awards were presented to six faculty members and 20 students. Certificates were distributed to students in recognition of their services rendered in AIMS during the month of June 2017. The new entrants and their parents were given a thorough orientation to the aims and ideals of the institution. Dr. Sony Vijayan, HOD Department of Commerce and Management, proposed the vote of thanks.
