Amrita School of Dentistry, in collaboration with the Indian Prosthodontics Society (IPS) Kerala State Branch and the Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons of India (AOMSI) Kerala Chapter, organized a special event to celebrate Prosthodontist Day. This program was conducted as a key component of the statewide launch of Prosthodontist Day celebrations.

Prof. Dr. Mazen Musbah Tamimi, Ph.D. holder and Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon, and Dr. Robert Laux, who holds dual Master of Science degrees, shared their expertise during the event and were sponsored by ‘Implant Genesis’.

IPS state office bearers Dr. Sudeep Sarathchandran, Dr. Rupesh, and Dr. Anil Kumar graced the occasion. From Amrita School of Dentistry, Dr. Balagopal Varma, Dr. Rakesh S, and Dr. Manju V took the stage, adding to the wealth of expertise present.

The much-anticipated launch of “AMRITAKIRANAM-2024” was officially conducted by Dr. Balagopal Varma, Principal of ASD, and Dr. Manju V, Head of the Department of Prosthodontics at ASD. ‘Amritakiranam’ is a denture program aimed at providing free denture treatment to the less privileged. As part of this initiative, the Amrita School of Dentistry team will extend their services to the inmates of an old-age home, contributing to the broader goal of oral healthcare for all.

Dr. Anil Kumar, Controller of Examinations at Kerala University of Health Sciences (KUHS), conveyed a message on Prosthodontist Day, emphasizing the importance of the profession in promoting oral health and well-being. The launch of Prosthodontist Day 2024 at the state level was marked with addresses by the President and Secretary of IPS Kerala. The program had enlightening lectures and hands-on sessions facilitated by the distinguished speakers.
