The School of Arts and Sciences, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Kochi campus, celebrated the Samskritam Day and Ramayana Dinaghosham at the Brahmasthanam Auditorium on Monday, August 10, 2015. Pujaneeya Swami Purnamritananda Puri inaugurated the exhibition SamskritamPradarsini at Ashram Prayer Hall.
Dr. U. Krishnakumar, Director, School of Arts and Sciences, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Kochi campus, welcomed the gathering. Pujaneeya Swami Purnamritananda Puri blessed the occasion with the Ramayanam message. A special Ramayana message was given by Dr. S. K. Ramachandran Nair, Sr. Medical Administrator, AIMS. The Chief Guest Sri. Kavalam Sasikumar, Deputy Editor, Janmabhumi, emphasized on the importance of Ramayana month and the value of Indian culture. Sri. S. Hariharan initiated the Ramayanam recital competition. Pujaneeya Swamiji gave away the prizes for the student participants. AMRITAM MALAYALAM to popularize the readings on Indian culture through Janmabhumi daily and RAKSHA BANDHAN were also observed on the same day. Swamiji tied Rakhis on the students and teachers as a token of love and protection. The program ended with vote of thanks by Ms. Greeshma, Lecturer in Sanskrit, followed by Shanti Mantra.
