Abstract : Chickpea is one of the earliest food legumes essential in the human diet and agricultural systems. Microbe-plant interaction improves the growth and yield of chickpeas. This interaction during seed germination improves the growth and development of the crop. Chickpea seeds were treated with microbes like bacteria, fungi, and their combination and seed germination studies were carried out by roll towel method in CRD. Seed treatment with bioinoculants, viz., CellTech, TagTeam, Rhizobium, and JumpStart, significantly influence the germination percentage, shoot length, root length, and vigour index of Chickpeas. Among the different treatments, it was observed that seed treatment with TagTeam @ 4.8g/ha improves the vigour index of chickpea by 47.62 percent over control.
