Two students from Amrita Health Sciences campus, Ms. Rakhi Krishna of 5th year Pharm D., School of Pharmacy, and Mr. Shankar S. Menon of 3rd year BDS, School of Dentistry, have entered the grand finale of “Speak for India Kerala Edition 2018” debate competition. The students each won a cash prize of Rs. 25,000 for clearing the semi-finals. They are among the 8 students selected from 32 students who participated in the semi-final round held at SCMS College, Kalamassery on January 25, 2019. These 8 students will participate in the grand finale to be held at Kottayam on February 7, 2019.
The fifth season of Speak for India – Kerala Edition is from the house of Federal Bank. Federal Bank, in association with Mathrubhumi, organized the inter-collegiate debate competition providing a platform for all college going students to prove their oratory skills and make their college proud in the state level competition. The debate competition started with 50 block level competitions across Kerala with around 60,000 participants followed by district level competitions in 14 districts and the zonal level competitions in Kochi, Kozhikode & Kollam. The selected candidates from the zonal level competition have participated in the semi-final and only 8 candidates made it to the grand finale.
