Dr. Aswathy S., Professor, Department of Community Medicine, School of Medicine, Amrita Institute of Medical Sciences, received the prestigious Bernard Lown Fellowship in Cardiovascular Health program which will enable her to work with the best minds in cardiovascular research at the Harvard. T. H. Chan School of Public Health. With this award, she is also a visiting scientist to the Dept. of Global Health and Population at the Harvard School of Public Health.
Dr. Aswathy has been awarded grants for a study on “Effectiveness of a ‘Tobacco Smoke Free Home’ Intervention in Partnership with Women’s Self Help Groups in the Slums of Kochi Corporation, Kerala: A Cluster Randomized Trial.”
Dr. Bernard Lown, a Nobel Peace Prize winner and a visionary, who is the architect of this program envisages “a global network of committed Lown fellows who will drive change in cardiovascular health through advocacy, innovation and through collective strength.”
