Abstract : The process of eliminating sediments caused by iron and manganese particles or removing bacteria through chlorination is termed as “Cleaning a Water Well”. The major gases found in the well are Oxygen, Carbon dioxide, Methane, Carbon Monoxide, Nitrogen, Hydrogen sulfide, etc. Methane isa dangerous gas because it possesses the capability to burn andis explosive. Gases like Carbon dioxide and Nitrogen should be vented out because they are asphyxiated in nature and will lead to suffocation, which causes death. Hundreds of people lose their lives every year by suffocation which is caused due to harmful gases present under the well. This paper introduces a LoRa based system that allows the person to know about the concentration of poisonous gases such as Methane, Carbon dioxide, Carbon Monoxide, etc. present under the well, the altitude reached, variation in the person's body vitals like a heartbeat. Along with these functionalities, the system also alerts the person present outside the well if the situation worsens. The communication between the transmitter and receiver module is implemented using LoRa technology. The alerts will be provided if the values cross certain thresholds as designed.
