Abstract : The power system plays an important role in the development of the country and helps in the growth of each sector. In today’s world, Electricity is considered one of the most important aspects that are required for the world to work properly. The main component in the Power System is a Transformer that helps in the power distribution through the conversion of voltages from high to low and vice versa. To keep the flow of electricity smooth and in proper distribution, the Transformer must work properly without any sort of failure. If any failure occurs, the result will be, a disruption of power flow causing damage to the transmission circuit, inconveniences for the consumers, and as the Transformer is made up of a combination of many small circuits, it will result in an increase in the cost of repair, and also resulting in the reduction of Transformer’s life. So, it has become necessary to keep in check the parameters of the Transformer unit, to save it from a tragic failure, and help allow a smooth and undisrupted power flow. The main challenge faced by the current technological equipment is that it is not compact and cost-effective. Although it provides precise information about the parameters, it is not easily feasible. The main aim of this research work is to develop a compact and cost-effective model that can be effectively put to work in areas that are difficult to be monitored daily. The study proposes the design and imposition of an online electronic Wi-fi system to monitor and record key parameters of a Transformer, like currents, voltage, and temperature. The obtained parameters are processed and recorded in the system memory. The stated wi-fi-based Transformer Health Monitoring System (THMS) will help the transformers to operate smoothly and identify problems before the occurrence of any tragic failure. Any change in the parameters of transmission is sensed to protect the entire transmission and distribution.
