Volunteers and alumni of Amrita University and Mata Amritanandamayi Math have set up a free medical camp to help those affected by the war in Russia and Ukraine. The camp, which is located at the border of Poland and Ukraine, has been providing medical care, food, and water to thousands of refugees since it was established in March 2022.

The camp is staffed by a team of doctors, nurses, and other healthcare professionals from Amrita University and Mata Amritanandamayi Math. The team is providing a wide range of medical services, including general checkups, wound care, and treatment for common illnesses. The camp also has a pharmacy where refugees can obtain free medications.

In addition to medical care, the camp is also providing food, water, and shelter to refugees. The camp has a kitchen that serves hot meals three times a day. There is also a distribution center where refugees can receive essential items such as clothing, blankets, and toiletries.

The camp has been a lifeline for many refugees who have fled the war in Ukraine. “I am so grateful for this camp,” said one refugee. “I was sick and hungry when I arrived, but the doctors and nurses took care of me and gave me food and water. I am now feeling much better.”

Another refugee said, “I lost everything in the war, but this camp has given me hope. I know that I am safe here and that I will be taken care of.”

The camp is a testament to the compassion and generosity of the Amrita University and Mata Amritanandamayi Math community. The volunteers and alumni who are working at the camp are making a real difference in the lives of those who have been affected by the war in Ukraine.
