Abstract : The power system at present provides less efficient power, so to improve the reliability and very efficiency of the overall power system, the fully generated power from the generating unit must be delivered to the utility. This can be achieved by improving the system by other means such as power factor correction, series, and shunt compensations, and reducing the Ferranti effect in the overall transmission system. The losses that occur from the transmission system as heat, losses due to the type of conductor, external parameters, and surge of voltages due to the Ferranti effect. In this work, attempt is made to design and develop a laboratory prototype of the transmission line. Performance analysis of the proposed prototype has been done under different load conditions.
