Dr. Vrinda S. Kumar has a distinguished academic and research career, beginning with her education at Nirmala College of Pharmacy, Muvattupuzha, where she earned her B Pharm and Master’s degree in Pharmaceutics. She joined Amrita as a Junior Research Fellow (JRF) in October 2016 on a DST-Nanomission-funded project titled “Phenytoin Sodium Loaded Nanomicelle IV for Seizure Emergencies.” She then enrolled in a Ph.D. program in November 2017, focusing on the same topic, and completed her Ph.D. in Pharmaceutical Sciences from Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham in 2022. Her doctoral dissertation was titled “Phenytoin Sodium Loaded Nanomicelle IV Formulation for Seizure Emergencies.”
With over seven years of research experience, Dr. Vrinda is currently an Assistant Professor in the Department of Pharmaceutics at Amrita School of Pharmacy. She received the Amrita Innovation & Research Award (AIRA) in 2023 for her publication merits and secured second prize in an oral presentation at a national symposium at NIPER, Guwahati in December 2022. Her research focuses on nanocarrier-based brain drug delivery, self-assembling polymeric drug delivery systems, and phytopharmaceuticals for neurological disorders.
