Abstract : Massive MIMO with large number of antennas at the BS has the ability to serve many number of users with large data rate requirements. Energy Efficiency (EE) and spectral efficiency (SE) has been considered as the major performance measures for the advanced wireless communication systems. In this paper, we analysed the performance of EE while considering the practical power consumption at the base station (BS). The results suggest that the EE can be enhanced by finding the optimal power consumption at BS and antennas in massive MIMO system.
