Bio

Dr. Nigil Sadanandan Palliyil is an orthopaedic spinal surgeon with board certifications by the Royal College of Surgeons of England,(UK) and the National Board of Examinations, New Delhi.

He has been exclusively practicing spinal surgery for the past 7 years, covering the entire spectrum of spinal disorders. He holds a keen interest in minimally invasive spine surgery, complex cervical and lumbar degenerative procedures, spine trauma, spine oncology, deformity corrections & CT navigated spinal surgeries.

He completed his MBBS and M.S (Orthopaedics) from Government Medical College, Thrissur, Kerala. He also possesses a DNB degree in Orthopaedics. Subsequently, he completed a 2-year FNB(National Board certified) spine fellowship programme from P.D. Hinduja National Hospital in Mumbai.

Following this, he was selected for the 2-year prestigious spine fellowship programme at The Centre for Spinal Studies and Surgery at Queens Medical Centre, Nottingham University Hospital, UK. Subsequently, he was promoted to Associate Consultant in Spine Surgery at QMC, Nottingham.

After the 3- year stint in the UK, he returned back to Cochin and has joined Amrita hospital as Assistant Professor in Orthopaedics (Spine Division).
