Abstract : Our society has different opinions, reactions as well as arguments on the usage of solar power. People have positive as well as negative feedbacks on this activity to overcome the crisis of shortage of electricity by the usage of solar power. Therefore, this study was carried out in order to identify the outlook of Keralites residing in semi-urban and rural area. The major objectives of this study was to identify the level of knowledge among the public about solar power, to study the Acceptance of solar among the Keralites, to measure the feasibility of solar power in Kerala and this study also aimed at finding out the attitude of Keralites towards the usage of solar power. The sample comprised of 150 solar users and non-solar users of semi urban and rural areas distributed in different parts of Kerala. The selection of the sample was made randomly. The method adopted in this study was quantitative using questionnaires as the main instrument. The tools used for data analysis includes percentage analysis Pearson's correlation coefficient and it is found that. Mind set to switch on to solar is been affected by the annual income.
