A one-day workshop on Online Labs for School Lab Experiments was conducted at Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya School, Ludhiana, Punjab, on August 19, 2017. The workshop was organized by AmritaCREATE, one of the research projects under Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham. Twenty science teachers from thirteen schools participated in the workshop.
During the workshop, Mr. Chandrashekhar, staff member of AmritaCREATE, explained Online Labs to the participants. During the demo session, he explained how to perform an experiment in Online Labs virtually. Later on, the participants got the opportunity to explore Online Labs in the computer lab of the school for one hour. After the training session, certificates of participation and free OLabs CDs were provided to the participants for future reference.
“An innovative lab for teachers as well as students to perform the experiments at any time without holding the actual apparatus. Also with this lab, it is possible to demonstrate the experiments for a large group of students. At the same time, repetition and recapitulation work can be done effectively with this lab,” commented Mr. Aravind Kumar, JNV Sangrur.
